you have 44 feet of fence on hand. If you want to fence an area 10 feet wide, how long can the fenced area be?

the fence is 10 feet wide , so what is the length that we can use the available fence on hand?

 

for the 2 wide sides you will need 10 x 2 = 20 feet.

 

left 44-20 = 24 feet.

 

24 feet will be enough to cover 12 feet long fence (12 x 2) + (10 x 2) = 44 feet
