tudents entering a masterss degree program at SDSU must meet minimum score requirements on the GRE exam. The GRE Verbal scpre must be at least 150, and the sum of the GRE Quantitative and Verbal scores must be atleast 315. Each score has a maximum of 175. I have to make 4 equations out of this word problem.

Let V be the verbal score and Q be the quantitative score. Since neither of these can exceed 175, in order to enter the program:

 

150 <= V <= 175

315 <= V + Q <= 350

 

By those two, we can deduce

150 <= Q <= 175

 

Not sure what they expect for a 4th expression unless they wanted each range expression broken up into 2
