I don't think this problem was written right but I still need to solve it. PLEASE HELP

Question

A man bought 3 houses for a total of $44000. The second costs $6000 more than the first, the third was $4000 more than the second. What is the price of the first?

c represents cost of the first house

c + 6000 represents the cost of the second

c + 6000 + 4000 represents the cost of the third

 

c + c + 6000 + c + 6000 + 4000 = 44000   combine like terms

3c + 16000 = 44000                                    subtract 14000 from both sides

3c = 28000                                                   divide both sides by 3

c = 9333.33

 

The first house cost $9,333.33 

 

Can you find the cost of the other two?
