For this problem, say her company already gave her the $33, she'd have to pay the $19.50 rental fee. After the payment, she would be left with $33-$19.50 which is $13.50

 

Now, we can assume that the remaining $13.50 is strictly for gas. For ease of calculation, I would now convert $13.50 into cents so that I'd have the same units in cents for both the $13.50 and the 18cents.

 

Converting the $13.50 to cents should give 1350c. 

I'd now go ahead and divide this amount by 18c, which should give me exactly 75. What this number means is that she can only drive for 75-miles on her company's budget; Any additional mileage after that would have to come out of pocket.
