where x = amount of sales

 

To earn a mininum of $3,400 per month:

 

2,000 + 0.05x ≥ 3,400

0.05x ≥ 1,400

x ≥ 28,000

 

Amount of sales has to be at least $28,000 per month for George to earn a minimum of $3,400 per month.
