we want to find the equation of a line parallel to line x+y=5.As parallel lines have same slope ,we will find the slope of given line.
x+y=5
y= -x+5,comparing this with standard form y=mx+c, slope (m)=-1
So equatuon of other line will be : y= -1*x+c =>y=-x+c
as this new line passes through point (3,7) ,putting x=3 and y=7 in this we will get y-intercept c
7 = -3+c
7+3=c
c=10
So,equation of parallel line passing through point (3,7) will be :
y = -x+10
