If you mean that he earns 1/3 more pay per day on good days
then we have...
Good days pay = 3.33+(1/3)3.33=$4.44 on good days
On regular days he still earns $3.33
Let G=# good days
Let R=# regular days
eqn 1) G+R=10
eqn 2) 4.44G + 3.33R = 36.63
we need to find G. In equation 1 solve for R = 10-G
Substitute 10-G in place of R in eqn 2
4.44G + 3.33(10-G) = 36.63
4.44G + 33.3 - 3.33G = 36.63
1.11G = 36.63-33.3
1.11G = 3.33
G = 3.33/1.11=3
Walter worked well on 3 days, leaving 7 days where he did not
check: 7(3.33) + 3(4.44) = 36.63
23.31 + 13.32 = 36.63
36.63 = 36.63
Answer balances and is correct
