A rectangle has four sides. There are two 'length' and two 'width.'
We may assign the variables (x and y), or (L and W), or (A and B), or some other letters. It is important that we not confuse them with numbers (l looks like 1) and that we remember what they represent.
This problem allows us to let L=length. Or, since L=7W, or we could always use 7W for length.
It allows us to define W=width.
