Tickets for the school football game cost five dollars for adults and three dollars for students. In order to buy new helmets, at least $9000 worth of tickets must be sold. Write an inequality that describes the total number of tickets that must be sold in order to buy new helmets.

Let x = number of adult tickets sold and let y = number of student tickets sold. Then the money the school makes from adult tickets is 5x and the money the school makes from student tickets is 3y. We want those values combined to be "at least $9000." So:
