Is there any information on graphing complex numbers with imaginary numbers?

I can't find it anywhere so I made my own rules and equations but I wanted to know if it had been created already.

A complex number, a + bi, can be thought of as the vector from (0,0) to the point (a,b).  

 

For example, 2 + 3i is the vector from (0, 0) to (2, 3).
