This would be a "volume" problem ... view the average student as a box, perhaps 0.5' x 2' x 6', or 6 cu.ft. @. Next, size up the VW passenger space, perhaps 5' x 5' x 3', or 75 cu.ft. ==> looks like 12 students may fit ... not bad for a 4-seater! Best regards :)
