The highest shred factor of c is c^2. This can be factored out
c^2(-c^2-c+56)
The term in brackets can be factored with the following reasoning.
Let x,y be real numbers. (-c+x)(c+y)=-c^2 +(x-y)c +xy
We can therefore choose xy=56 to match the term in brackets
7*8 =56 and 7-8=-1 are obvious tries which match the coefficients
So we can write
–c^4-c^3+56c^2=c^2(-c+7)(c+8) which is nicer to write as c^2(7-c)(c+8)
I will leave it to you to show a check
