last week an office group spent $122 on 6 cheese pizzas and 4 salads.This week the group spent $192 on 8 cheese pizzas and 6 salads

which system of the equations can be used to find the cost of one cheese pizza and one salad?

Nathan B.

I think something is wrong in the equation.

3(6p + 4s = 122)
-2(8p + 6s = 192)

18p + 12s = 366
-16p - 12s = -384
----------------------
2p = -18
p = -9

I tried another elimination method, but it still came out with the same answer of p = -9.

The coefficients (3, -2) are not needed - from where did you get them?, nor are the parentheses.
Using only the equations inside of the parentheses, do the same elimination process.

OK?
