We need to keep track of both rectangle area and perimeter formulas:
A = lw
P = 2l + 2w
We know two of the three variables in the area (area, length), so we can use that to find the third (width).
24 cm2 = 8 cm * w
24 cm2 / 8 cm = w
24 cm / 8 = w
3 cm = w
Now that we know the width, you can solve for the perimeter:
P = 2 * 8 + 2 * 3
