How much are you being paid if they pay you $12:00 for 75 minutes of work

How much are you making an hour if your employer is paying you $12.00 for 75 minutes of work?  How do you work out the problem?

First off note there are 60 minutes in an hour so

75 minutes is 1 hour 15 mins.

15 mins is 1/4 of an hour since 15(4) = 60

 

so you made $12 for 1.25 hours    ....  $/hr will be 12/1.25 = $9.60/hr

Divide 12 by 75 to find out the pay per minute.

 

 

$12 / 75 min = $0.16 / min

 

 

Next, convert minutes to hours.

 

1 hour = 60 minutes

 

 

($0.16) / (1/60) = $9.60 / hr

 

 

You are making $9.60 per hour.
