Algebra - Solve for 'x' in the equation

Solve foe X in the equation.

3x - 5 = 16


Step 1:

Add 5 to both sides of the equation:

3x -5 + 5 = 16 + 5

3x =21


Step 2:

Divide both sides by 3

3x/3 = 21/3

x = 7
