The red vector is the resultant of the addition of the 3 vectors:
Notice that the angle of the resultant is actually 169.5° (subtract 180 from 349.5)

asked 09/01/24On a training flight, a student pilot flies from Lincoln, Nebraska to Clarinda, Iowa, then to St. Joseph, Missouri, and then to Manhattan, Kansas. The directions are shown relative to north: 0∘ is north, 90∘ is east, 180∘ is south, and 270∘ is west. Distance from Manhattan back to Lincoln was 189 km, it was 349.5 degrees relative to the north to get there. D1 was 147 km with an angle of 85, D2 was 106 km with an angle of 167, D3 was 166 km with an angle of 235.
