This is a common feeling when studying for the NCLEX. The way to combat this feeling is to be organized, make a plan, and stick to it. You want to carve out a decent amount of time per day to study/review, and you want to hit hard the areas of weakness, not forgetting the rest of the content. It's a good practice to take a practice exam and use your feedback results to decide where you need to work harder and where you seem solid in your knowledge. Make the plan, stick to the plan, and if you do fall off...tomorrow is a new day. Do not give up! Good luck to all the NCLEX candidates out there!

One of the most effective ways to feel less overwhelmed while studying for the NCLEX is to use the NCLEX Test Plan as a guide or checklist for preparation. Focus on ensuring that you can answer a variety of questions from each Client Needs category, related subcategories, and associated activity statements. Studying from the test plan helps organize preparation and ensures balanced coverage of content that may appear on the examination.
It is also important to practice questions written at the same level of difficulty and in the same style used on the NCLEX. The test plan includes examples of Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) item types and clinical judgment-focused questions. These examples can be helpful when selecting practice resources or when using generative artificial intelligence to create additional NCLEX-style practice questions and case studies.
There is a specific test plan provided by NCLEX that I use to help you be successful on the exam. Would be happy to show you simple ways to be successful and not overwhelmed.
