determine the velocity

one car with a mass of 1500kg is going north at a speed of 25m/s. The car collides with a second car with a mass of 2000kg going west. The cars collide and stick together and have a vector of v=10.9m/s i + 13m/s j. determine the velocity of the second vehicle as it traveled into the intersection before the collision.

Hi Annet,

My suggestion is to apply conservation of momentum to the system.

You will need to apply COM in both the x-direction and the y-direction.

Keep in mind that the final momentum of the two car system can be broken into x and y components.
