(-1 + 6i) + (-1 - 6i) = -2
The complex conjugate of a + bi is a - bi.
Raymond B. answered 28d
-1 + 6i has a conjugate = 1-6i
sum them cancels out the imaginary part and leaves -1-1=-2
in more express a+bi form you could also write that as
= -2 +(0)i with a=-2, b=0

Skylar T, You find the complex conjugate simply by changing the sign of the imaginary part of the complex number. To find the complex conjugate of 4+7i we change the sign of the imaginary part. Thus the complex conjugate of 4+7i is 4 - 7i. You can also look this up online or in your text.02/17/24
