There's two ways to solve this...long division or synthetic division.  Personally, I would go with long division just so you don't have to deal with fractions.

 

             x - 2  R -12

2x-1  ¦ 2x²_-5x-10

           2x²-x

                -4x-10

                -4x+2

                      -12
