A man drives a car a distance of 20km at an average speed of 44kmhr^-1. what must be his average speed for the next 220km if he is to cover the total distance in 9hours?

To get the average speed i had to first get the T1( as totaltime= T1 + T2)....do i have to add the average speed(V1 + V2?)

You can make a table for v,d, and t for situation 1, situation 2 and total. Remember v constant or average is always d/t for that interval or total. Also, you know that t1+t2 =ttot and d1+d2 = dtot. That should see you through any problem.
