1500 g=1.5 kg

x=mass of one cat in kg

x+1.5=mass of the other cat in kg

x+x+1.5=11

2x+1.5=11

2x=11-1.5

2x=9.5

x=9.5/2

x=4.75 kg

4.75+1.5=6.25 kg

the masses of the cats are 6.25 kg and 4.75 kg
