Sarah and Kasim are now ready to tackle the following problem.
A constant horizontal force F
of magnitude 0.3 N is applied to m1. If m1 = 1.0 kg and m2 = 0.33 kg, find the magnitude of the acceleration of the system of two blocks

I am going to assume that the two blocks are in contact with each other. In this case the total mass is 1.33 kg.
Using Newton's second law, the acceleration a = F / m or 0.3 N / 1.33 kg = 0.23 m / s^2.
