g = GM_e/R_e² g(R) = g_e(R_e²/R²) Weight on earth is mg_e. Force of gravity (weight at another R) is mg(R).

You can see that g(R) varies as the inverse square of R. Whatever you multiply R by (R/R_e) you square it and invert it, and that is what happens to g or "weight".

Doubling R quarters g. One radius away from surface is a multiplier of 2. 2 radii away is a multiplier of 3...
