Keep in mind - log 55 is the same thing as log₁₀ 55. With that said.

log₁₀₀₀55 = log₁₀(55)/log₁₀(1000)

You're told what log(55) is. Also, log₁₀(1000) = 3 because 10³ = 1000

So log₁₀₀₀55 = log₁₀(55)/log₁₀(1000) = 1.74/3
