Consider the following graph of the function g(x) which is a transformation of the cosine function, f(x)=cos⁡(x). Find a formula for g(x).

This function is just like cos except the y axis is stretched to amplitude 3 rather than 1 and the x axis is the same as the period is 2π in your diagram. There is no displacement in either x or y.

y = 3cos(x)

If the period had been pi, a 1/2 compression, the formula would have been y = 3cos(2x)
