- What is the linear mass density of the rope (in kg/m)?
- Linear mass density = mass/length
- 0.56kg ÷ 4.3m = 0.13kg/m
- What is the speed of the waves on the rope (in m/s)?
- speed = distance/time
- Newton's Second Law is Force = mass * acceleration
- 35N = 0.56 k * x m/s
- 35N ÷ 0.56k = 62.5 m/s
Hope this helps!
