You will need to use the acceleration equation: Vf = Vi + a·t

Your unknowns is t (for time), but you do know that Vf = 0 m/s becuase it tells us it comes down to a stop. The problem gives you the initial velocity which is 17 m/s and the acceleration is -7.56 m/s^2.

If you isolate "t", you get --> t = (Vf - Vi) / a --> t = (0 - 17) / (-7.56) --> t = 2.25 seconds.
