These used to confuse me terribly! Like if we say f(x) = x - 2 a nd tgen say f(5) = 5 - 2, etc, same deal. We work inside out.

g(h(x)) = g(√x) = √x - 1 -----> -1 not under the radical

f(√x - 1) = keep going
