focus stacking with Lightroom CC

Question

I'm doing jewelry product photography using a Canon RP camera. I'd like to continue using Lightroom CC for processing and then store the images online. I can't find a technique that will enable me to do focus stacking with LR CC, then send the images in Photoshop. My work around is to send individual images into Photoshop and then follow the image stacking and blending techniques. This works OK when there's only a few images but is very cumbersome when there's many images.

Hi Greg,

Lightroom 11 won't do what you would like, but I do have an improved workflow for you: Rather than manually sending individual images into Photoshop as you describe, find them in your Grid View in Lightroom—select the ones you want to stack (that is, make sure they're all highlighted), then go up into the menu to "Photo," then "Edit in," then "Open as Layers in Photoshop." Lightroom will send them all into Photoshop, and they will automatically get stacked into layers for you.

From there, take things as you likely are doing already in Photoshop ("Auto-align layers," etc.). It's not a complete Lightroom-only solution, but until Adobe offers that, this will at least save you some steps.
