There's lots of ways to build circuits at home, depending on what you're wanting to build! The simplest way is with a breadboard.

Breadboards are reusable circuit boards that have openings you can push parts into. The outside segments with the + and - symbols are called "rails." You can connect your power source positive to any of the rail pins and the entire vertical rail with share that connection. Same goes for the negative rail!

The rows in the middle of the breadboard are electrically connected horizontally, rather than vertically like the rails. This allows you to connect components in any orientation without having to solder, which makes it great for temporary circuits and beginners!

If you're new to building circuits and are going to try it yourself, I would highly recommend following a tutorial on Youtube. Most good quality videos will include a full parts list so you don't have to look around for what you need.
