The executive branch could:
1) Veto a bill passed by Congress.
2) Establish an oversight committee to supervise actions of the legislative branch through the federal government.
3) Approve or reject the annual government budget passed by Congress.
4) Sign an Executive Order which acts as a piece of legislation that must be carried out.
5) Use discretionary presidential power in making decisions regarding the existing or proposed infrastructures within the United States, overriding the power of a congressional member who represents the district of interest to make an opposing decision.
Hope that helps!
