So the general formula for the moment of inertia is I = m*r2,
where I is inertia, m is mass, and r is the distance from the axis of rotation.
The mass of the object is the kid's mass. So m = 41.2 kg
The axis of rotation is the center of the merry-go-round. That makes the distance from the axis of rotation to be the distance from the center of the merry-go-round. So r = 1.5 m.
Now let's substitute these values into the formula.
I = 41.2 * (1.5)2
= 92.7 kg*m2
