supreme court nominees: Kavanaugh, Barrett & Gorsuch, and other lower level federal judge positions
telling threatening NATO countries to spend more of their money to support NATO, such as
appointing Ric Grennel as ambassador to Germany
rescinding Obama executive orders
legislative? probably Trump's campaigning for House races, while Obama never did that.
Trump worked to get Republican congressional candidates elected. Similar to Nixon who got payback by being nominated for president even after losing in 1960 and then losing again in a California run for governor.
Another possible reason Trump won: Voters have taken to prefering candidates who aren't career politiicians. Outsiders have an edge. Voters distrust politicians who seem to rip off taxpayers. Jesse Ventura won against both majority parties. Gov. Arnold won in California. both non-politicians. Trump was similarly a TV personality with big name recognition, a businessman, with no political past.
