I need help. I dont understand this. Can anyone help me on this plz. AS soon as possible. Thank YOU, this would be really appreciated alot for real. bye. Bye
A 50 kg roller coaster pauses at the top of a 7 m hill, then accelerates down the hill, reaching a top speed of 30 m/s when it reaches the bottom.
- Identify the energy transfer.
- Organize the data.
m (kg) | g (m/s2) | hi (m) | hf (m) | vi (m/s) | vf (m/s) |
50 | 7 | 30 |
- CALCULATE the energy the roller coaster starts with. SHOW WORK!

This is a weird problem. They say that the RC pauses at the top of the 7 meter hill. That means vi = 0 and the initial potential energy = total energy can be calculated as mgh = (50kg)(9.8 m/s2)(7 m) = J
The final height can be obtained by ET - EKf =EPf - mghf and solve for hf (with EKf = 1/2 m vf2)
