As far as the Biochemistry class I took, you're going to need to have a good grasp of all the functional groups, hydrogen bonding donors and acceptors, acid/base catalyzed hydrolysis, acetal/hemiacetal/ketal/hemiketals/imine/enamines, a little spectroscopy/spectrometry, fischer/hayworth projections, R/S stereochemistry, and have the amino acids and specific sugars memorized. This is just off the top of my head from what I remember taking it. From gen chem you definitely will want to review acid/base stuff like pH/pKa, HH equation, ice tables, and buffers.
