Nick and Ken have some yellow staplers and some pink staplers. The number of pink staplers Nick has is equal to the number of yellow staplers Ken has. 1/4 of Nick's staplers are yellow and 1/5 of Ken's staplers are pink. There are a total of 112 yellow staplers. Find the total number of staplers they have.

3N/4 = Nick's Pink

K/5 = Ken's Pink

4K/5 = Ken's Yellow

4K/5 = 3N/4

N/4 + 4K/5 = 112 = total yellow

N/4 +3N/4 = N = 112 = Nick's total

4K/5 = 3(112)/4 = 3(28)

K = (5/4)(3)(28) = 5(3)7+5(21) = 105 = Ken's total

total = K+N = 112 + 105 = 227 total

Nick has 28 yellow and 84 pink

Ken has 21 pink and 84 yellow
