It seems to me that the board lies along the diagonal (100 cm long) and it is 90 cm long, leaving 5 cm at each end. At the ends of the board, you have isosceles right triangles made with the corners of the box of height 5 cm. that means the sides are 5sqrt(2). the base of the triangle is the width of the board which is 10 cm.
