asked 02/17/22Need to include restrictions on the domain
my teacher told me to include the restrictions,
this is what i got
y = 1 + x2 / 1 - x2
DOMAIN: (-∞, -1) u (-1,1) u (1, ∞),{x|x ≠ 1, -1}
intervals | 4x | (1-x2)2 | 4x/(1-x2)2 | inc. or dec.
x < 0 - + - decreasing
x > 0 + + + increasing
how should i add the restrictions into my table?

Your table for where the function is increasing or decreasing is not sufficient. The graph of this function could help clear this up for you, but basically it looks like a parabola going up in the center, so you will break up the table into x values of the function's domain.
(-∞, -1) (-1,0) (0, 1 ) (1, ∞)
decreasing decreasing increasing increasing

It looks like you already have included restrictions (x not equal to -1 or 1). Not sure what your question is.02/17/22
