Imagine a species that has a population of 100,000on a mainland and a population of 500 on each of two nearby islands. An eastern island is located 10km from the mainland and a western island is from the mainland to both islands, predict the consequences of allele frequencies for locus A that has 2 alleles (A1 and A2) where A1=0.7 on the mainland and A1=0.2 on both islands. In you answer be sure to predict the consequences for A1 on the mainland and each of the islands.

Hi Forrest J., you are missing some significant pieces of your question. Such as, distances (not all there) and their significance, proposed mixing mechanisms (are we talking aerial pollen, seed transport by water, what?), and driving forces for evolution/selection, if any. Also, time scale of changes to model. Or are we doing a retrospective study to determine selection forces which brought us to this genetic mix??
