Hi,
I am learning about writing about culture.
I need to write an extended creative nonfiction essay on issues of culture and identify that I am either apart of or witness to.
I have already tried starting to write, but I have no idea what to write about or how to write it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are many parts to the concept of culture. Your family traditions, the language or languages you speak and what you eat are examples of this. How do you participate in these or how do you see other people sharing these? Your culture is what you a part of and what you are a witness to is how people around you are participating in theirs.

Thank you for getting back to me, Marianny. Yes, you would have to pay for the tutoring session. In terms of suggestions about what to write for your essay: by a culture, are you referring to race, religion, ethnicity, economic class, work culture, types of families, etc.? Or is it another type of culture?

Hi Marianny, I agree with what Laurette said. The only thing I would add is that this is the kind of essay where you have to SHOW and NOT TELL. In other words, you need to use descriptive language and be specific. You could start your essay with a scene or a memory. Try to connect your cultural roots to the person you are now.
