Jamie told his math teacher: "Give me any absolute value, and I can tell you two numbers that have the same absolute value." Is Jamie correct?

Absolute value story problem- confused of an answer to write down.

|-x|=x

|x |=x

 

it doesn't matter if a number is negative or positive, it's absolute value is always positive.

 

i give you the number 5 for instance

 

|-5|=5

|+5|=5

 

though -5 and 5 are two different numbers on the number line, their absolute number is the same 5.

 

i believe this is what she is saying....
