The relevant equation to use here is H = V0 x t + 1/2 x g x t2 where H is the height of the building, t the time to reach the ground, V0 the initial downward velocity, and g the acceleration of gravity.
As it wasn't mentioned otherwise, it is assumed that the ball is thrown horizontally, so V0= 0.
H = 0 x t + 1/2 x 9.8 m/s2 x 42 s2 = 78 meters
