add and subtract one to get 44 and 46.

add 2 to 46 to get 48

subtract 2 from 44 to get 42

42, 44, 46, 48 sum to 180

or let x, x+2, x+4 and x+6 = the 4 consecutive even numbers

4x +12 = 180

4x = 180-12 = 168

x = 168/4 = 42

x+2 = 44

x+4 = 46

x+6 = 48

Let x be the first even integer. Then the next consecutive even integer is x+2. Then x+ 4 and x+ 6.

This gives the equation.

X + (x+2) + (x+ 4) + ( x+ 6) = 180

Or

4x + 12 = 180

Solve this equation and you get the first even integer. Now just add 2, 4 and 6 to this value to get all 4 integers.
