need help with ones and tens

18 ones is the same as how many tens and how many ones

Hi Loleatha! Thank you for your question-- In the number 18, there are only two place values being used: the ones place and the tens place. The digit in the ones place is 8 whereas the digit in the tens place is 1, which represents 1 whole ten. For the number 18, there is 1 ten, and 8 ones.
