I have taught different subjects for several years in different countries. I am a licensed NILD educational therapist who helps students become confident and competent learners by teaching them cognitive skills. As a certified dyslexia specialist, I use Orton Gillingham methodology to help students improve their reading, spelling, and writing. I also work with undergraduate and graduate psychology students to improve student outcomes through individual tutoring, consultation, providing learning strategies, and supporting students in areas related to course materials and expectations.

My favorite part about tutoring or teaching is seeing students get the material and when they develop a love for learning. I believe that many difficulties are simply a result of students needing to try a different strategy.

I relate math problems to the real world. Very often, a student who is having a difficult time understanding a math problem will see it clearly when it is presented as a concrete example.

I have extensive training in education and child development and I have applied this to my homeschooling experience resulting in my children being several grade levels ahead and starting high school and college early.
