Use the equation:
Where vf is the final velocity you are looking for, vi is the initial velocity which is zero in this case, "a" is the acceleration which, in this case is 9.8 m/s2, and Δx is the change in height which in this case is 1.2 m
So vf2 = 02 + 2(9.8)(1.2)
vf = √23.52 = 4.8 m/s
