h(t)=-16t²+v₀t+h

I have 2 questions on my daughters math and I’m lost.

A. Write the equation that would model the height of a water balloon if a student drops it from a bridge with a height of 300 ft.

B. How long will it take for that balloon to hit the head of a 6 foot tall man?

h(t) = -16t^2 +vot + h, where h=300 and vo=0

h(t) = -16t^2 +300 =0

t^2 =300/16 = 18.75

t = sqr18.75 = about 4.33 = about 4 1/3 seconds

h=6 = -16t^2 +300

16t^2 = 294

t^2 = 294/16

t = sqr294/4 = about 4.29 seconds to hit the 6 ft tall guy
