Yes, USD30 an hour is high. I have over 30 years of experience and I can show provide evidence of student satisfaction. I have a 99.5% rating with 1920 hours, a 5.0 rating with 530 hours, and the 5.0 rating here on Wyant with 50 hours.

People on Wyzant have wildly different ideas about what tutoring is worth. Look at all the ESL ads that want private, differentiated instuction for less than $20 an hour compared to college essay application tutoring that can range above $100 an hour. For what it's worth as a fellow ESL/IELTS teacher I think you're charging the right amount but you may have to drop your rate just to get students. The only IELTS students I've had were at $20 an hour and I did it just to get some ratings/hours on the platform.
